We all know what all the scouts said about Alex Avila. He had zero upside, Baseball Prospectus flat out said "he won't be a star". Yet Welton picked him because he was the youngest qualified C, and he's now magically the best C in baseball.
So feel free to vent here, what's the biggest b.s. about Avila?
Obviously the BABIP of .369 is an easy choice, but does it explain all the crap? What about him being able to hit change-ups better than almost anyone in MLB in the year of the pitcher, when even seasoned all stars are flailing more than usual? Are we sure when the BABIP goes back to normal the problem will go away, or will we have to stomach this garbage for the long term?

I am offended by Mike Napoli's outrageously good defense.

Meh, Napoli is harmless, even at his very best a poor man's Thome, who was always harmless. Fact is Napoli can hit so it's not insane for him to be having a statistical outlier year in Texas stadium. The same way Torrealba has gotten so much better.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's not a total AYFKM that a career .260 hitter is batting .320 and you shouldn't be ashamed of his .350 BABIP -- you should -- just saying in the grand scheme of your usual crap, Avila is still the worst (this year). Yes, even worse than Chase Headley, too.
